Helmet Laws Alabama

The issue of helmet laws is one that is very personal to most riders. As you listen to discussions (or arguments) on the topic you can hear passionate perspectives on all sides: PRO - Those who believe that all riders should wear helmets typically have some personal experience or knowledge that has caused them to take the stance of a strong proponent of helmet use. Statistical data on motorcycle accidents clearly supports the value of wearing a helmet while riding. CON - There aren't many (if any) who believe that no one should wear a helmet. But there is a strong sentiment among the riding population that wearing a helmet should be a matter of choice. The data that demonstrates the value of wearing a helmet isn't refuted. Rather, the emphasis is on each rider having the right to choose if they want to wear a helmet. This personal approach to managing their risk seems to be a societal norm and is perceived as "right" that may or may not be being violated by the state in which they live. Other Perspectives - And then there are other perspectives. Some believe that even in an environment of choice all under age riders and passengers should be required to wear a helmet. Living in Alabama means all riders and passengers have to wear a helmet. As one of the twenty states that have full helmet laws, Alabama has decided that safety of its motorcycle riding population is of paramount importance.
